Nine-year-old Peace* was sexually assaulted by a highly respected man in her community in Uganda.
Thanks to her and her mum’s bravery, the perpetrator is now in jail. Peace receives aftercare and enjoys going to school again.
It took exactly one year from when IJM received the accusations about the perpetrator to when the sentence was given.
