SITA'S STORY
Sita was just a teenager when she was married off to a man she barely knew.
When her mother-in-law fell sick, her husband took a loan and agreed to pay it off with their labour.
TRAPPED IN BONDED LABOUR
Sita was forced to work without pay, food or rest and was sexually abused.
For over a year, Sita suffered at the hands of her perpetrators.
HANDS OF RESCUE
When Sita was finally rescued, she received support from IJM and slowly overcame the trauma she’d experienced.
