    Chief Executive Officer

    David Braga is the Chief Executive Officer of IJM Australia. In this role, he draws on over two decades of executive leadership to advance IJM’s mission to protect people in poverty from violence and exploitation.

    David began his career in technology at Bankers Trust Australia and held senior leadership roles at J.P. Morgan. He later became CEO of BNP Paribas Securities Services in Australia and New Zealand, where he led high-performing teams in complex environments. Most recently, he worked in strategic advisory, supporting organisations across the corporate and non-profit sectors.

    David brings a passion for building strong cultures, delivering impact, and leading with purpose. He has also served in Board member roles for several Christian organisations, including Olive Tree Media and as chair for CRU. In the past he has chaired the Council of Tara Anglican School for Girls.

    David and his wife Karen are active members of their local church. They have three adult daughters. He enjoys landscape photography, reading, spending time with friends, and following cricket.

    During law school, Grace interned at Anti-Slavery Australia, a legal clinic within the University of Technology Sydney and assisted with visa or compensation applications for women who had been trafficked into sexual exploitation in Australia.  

    After working in government and corporate litigation, Grace returned to Anti-Slavery Australia, representing people who had experienced modern slavery, with a focus on forced marriage. She subsequently moved to Canberra, and worked for the Australian Government, implementing their national strategy to combat modern slavery.  

    Grace has worked in multiple roles at IJM across programs and grants and is currently the Chief Advocacy Officer. In this role, she leads efforts to influence government policy and priorities for the benefit of those affected by violence and exploitation.  

    Grace holds a Juris Doctor, a Master of Arts (Slavery and Liberation) from the University of Nottingham (Rights Lab) and was awarded an Australian Federal Police Commissioner’s Certificate for her outstanding contribution to Project Skywarp.  

    Grace has a husband, one son and a large black dog named Teddy. During her free time, she bakes sourdough bread and reads detective fiction.

    Prior to joining IJM, Laurie-Anne served as Chief Development Officer at The Bowery Mission in New York City, leading the Development Team to raise annual operating revenue of $18.5M and participating as a member of the Executive Leadership team. Over her 12-year career at The Bowery Mission, she pioneered new fundraising initiatives and built invaluable donor relationships to support the Mission’s critical work.  

    Through her leadership, Laurie-Anne built The Bowery Mission’s robust corporate partnerships program from the ground up. The program now engages more than 200 organisations to serve New Yorkers experiencing homelessness and hunger, providing significant financial and gift-in-kind support.  

    A native of Sydney, Australia, Laurie-Anne previously served as Head of Corporate Development and Events Manager at the Powerhouse Museum. She holds a Master’s in Public Administration from The University of Sydney, a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from Southern Cross University, and a Certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility from Harvard Business School. 

    Laurie-Anne enjoys spending time with family and friends. She loves sunrise beach walks and appreciating the beauty of nature, as well as travelling and exploring different cultures, dining out and visiting museums around the world.

    Director, International Programs and Grants

    Rebecca Nedelko is the Director of International Programs and Grants at IJM Australia. In this role, she provides strategic leadership and oversight for IJM Australia's international program portfolio, ensuring that initiatives are locally-driven, have sustainable impact and align with the organisation's mission to protect vulnerable people from violence and exploitation.

    She is an international development practitioner, having lived and worked extensively across the Asia-Pacific with the UN Development Program, the International Organization for Migration, international NGOs, and government bodies. Rebecca’s expertise spans program management and policy advocacy across areas of human rights, labour migration, child protection, social policy, health security and governance.

    Rebecca holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations (Bond University/Obirin Daigaku), a Master’s degree in International Development Practice (The University of Queensland), and a Postgraduate Certificate in International Law, Human Rights and Climate Change (UN University for Peace).

    Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys travelling and exploring the outdoors with her husband, daughter, and son. She’s also an avid podcast listener, especially those that delve into international affairs, human rights, and inspiring stories of resilience and hope.

    Jacques is a highly regarded leader with a track record of achieving success. After completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Science at UNSW, Jacques completed a Master of Arts in Christian Studies at Alphacrusis University College.

    Known for his critical thinking and analytical skills, Jacques is dedicated to effectively equipping and mobilising churches across Australia to advance the mission of justice and protection for the world’s most vulnerable communities.

    With a natural ability to build rapport, Jacques is committed to advancing IJM’s mission through initiatives that bring together faith, action, and a shared vision for justice.

    Jacques recently got married to his wife Holly, leaving Newtown and moving to North Sydney. He is an avid sports fan supporting the Philadelphia Eagles, Sixers and Arsenal.

    With over 8 years' experience in the not-for-profit sector, Christian is dedicated to connecting people with the cause of justice in a personal and transformative way.

    Known for building authentic and meaningful partnerships, Christian’s leadership is grounded in trust and collaboration. With a Master’s in Business Administration, Christian combines his strong business skills with innovative thinking and his own commitment to justice.

    As IJM Australia’s Director of Engagement, he is excited to see Australians across the country help protect people in poverty from violence worldwide.

    Christian, originally from Germany, has called Australia home for half of his life. He is a passionate musician and enjoys spending time in the great outdoors and often plays table tennis with his wife, Steph.

    Briony Camp works as IJM Australia's policy and campaigns in the advocacy team where she assists with government and media relations. Prior to joining IJM, Briony worked for seven years in policy and media roles in federal and state politics and in community advocacy in the not-for-profit sector. 

    She occasionally works as a professional singer, holds an honours degree in environmental science and lives in country Victoria with her husband and two pets.

    An avid team player, Alex is committed to fostering deep, authentic connections that empower Australians to make a tangible impact in the fight for justice and freedom.

    Alex enjoys serving at his local church, where he finds community and purpose in supporting others. He also loves spending time outdoors, whether it's going for a walk, a run, or playing football. These activities help him stay active, connect with friends, and appreciate the beauty of the world around him.

    Madeleine joined IJM Australia in 2021 with a passion to connect Australians with bringing justice to vulnerable communities worldwide.

    Serving previously as a lawyer and working in the court system, Madeleine is eager to see justice systems strengthened globally, specifically to protect communities at risk of violence and exploitation, and to move towards a reality where everyone has access to justice and protection.

    Madeleine loves sharing with supporters about the impact of their giving and highlighting stories of empowered survivors. A natural connector, Madeleine enjoys sharing IJM’s vision to protect people in poverty from violence with Aussies across the country.

    Madeleine is married to Julian and enjoys living in the inner city of Sydney. She attends a local church, sings in a community choir, loves snorkeling and cakes, and can't wait for her next overseas trip.

    Dr. Lindsay McMillan OAM, FAICD. His strategic background and distinctive understanding of primary health care and human resources have enabled him to conduct significant research examining the complexities of the modern workplace and subsequent implications and solutions. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, an Associate Fellow of the Australian College of Health Service Management, a Churchill Fellow and a Rotary International Foundation Fellowship recipient. In 2012, Lindsay was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to Australians with a disability through a range of health organisations and human resource services and programs.

    Ant Clark, Melbourne-based Board Director, is the Head of Fundraising at Melbourne City Mission. Ant brings governance experience from previous board and committee roles, and fundraising and commercial experience from Grattan Institute, Tearfund Australia, Opportunity International Australia, and three airlines.

    Ant holds a Diploma in Professional Fundraising at the Fundraising Institute of Australia.

    IJM Chief Resources Officer

    Bill Clark serves as IJM’s Chief Resources Officer developing and leading strategies in collaboration with IJM Regional Presidents to increase global resources to fuel the mission. He has 30 years of leadership experience with expertise in fundraising, brand management, marketing, communications, strategic partnerships, customer service, and operations. Bill has served for 10 years with International Justice Mission leading teams that have pioneered IJM revenue and movement building strategies.

    In addition to his work at IJM, Bill has served in executive leadership positions across a broad spectrum of industries including Client Services Group Manager at PDSI Software, Chief of Strategy and Staff at Fuller Seminary, and Chief Advancement Officer at A21. Bill graduated with honors in Political Science from the University of California at Irvine in 1992 and is currently engaged in a master’s program in conflict analysis and resolution at the Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University.

    Grant Dawson MBA, GAICD, Chartered Accountant, Director, based in Melbourne and Chair of Governance Risk Audit Finance (GRAF) Committee

    Grant has over 35 years’ experience leading finance and corporate services teams, mostly with multi-national manufacturing companies and for-purpose organisations. 

    He saw poverty firsthand while living in Hong Kong for four years and working in nearby countries. Encounters with people and legal systems so vastly different to those in Australia led to a change of direction over 20 years ago, taking him into the for-purpose sector. 

    Grant has retired from permanent work and is now a board member for IJM and another organisation, bringing hope and a helping hand to people living in some of the world’s darkest places.

    Kelly Rae, Board Directoris an international development consultant with over 14 years of experience in development and humanitarian relief programming with faith-based organisations. She has worked through partnerships across South East Asia, South Asia, Pacific and Middle East, and held team, technical and senior leadership roles including with Anglican Overseas Aid, Tearfund Australia and Church World Service Cambodia. Kelly brings expertise in the Australian development sector, institutional grant and risk management. She is experienced and passionate about partnership brokering, program quality and inclusive practice and has thrived in roles that championed innovation. 

    Kelly holds a Masters of International and Community Development (2014) from Deakin University and Bachelor of Arts in Development (2007) from the University of Melbourne.

    Kimbra Butterworth MAICD, Board Director, is a consultant with experience in advising, fostering cultures of belonging, decolonising approaches and centering diverse lived experiences and survivor voices across various community and government contexts. Professional background includes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island cultural responsiveness; diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy development within State Government; advocacy and support with illicit intercountry adoption; and case management overseas in gender-based violence case, child sexual exploitation, trauma and underrepresented people groups.

    Kimbra completed a Bachelor of Humanitarian and Community Studies in 2015 and received the Red Cross Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement and completed a Graduate Diploma in Psychology at the University of Adelaide in 2024.  She is currently completing her Honours year of Psychology at Flinders University with the aim of continuing to complete a Clinical Masters/PhD.  Kimbra also serves on the Trauma and Psychology Interest Group of the Australian Psychological Society.

    Sarah Hornby’s path into philanthropy began in 2007, when a role supporting a major gifts team sparked a passion that would shape the course of her career. 

    Over the next 14 years, she worked with global NGOs including Opportunity International Australia and ygap, raising funds to support sustainable development and tackle poverty in emerging economies. In senior roles at both state and national levels, Sarah led major donor programs, built an ambassador network and conducted immersive donor trips to projects in India and Indonesia, bringing supporters closer to the grassroots impact of their giving.

    In 2022, Sarah joined the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation as Head of Philanthropy. As a cancer survivor, she brings a deeply personal perspective to her work and a strong belief in the power of research to save lives. She credits her own recovery to advances made possible through philanthropy and is passionate about forging partnerships that will accelerate the next breakthroughs in cancer care.

    Sarah remains deeply committed to international development and is proud to serve on the board of IJM Australia, supporting the mission to end modern slavery and protect vulnerable communities around the world.

    Sandra Lo, Company Secretary, is a senior lawyer with expertise in criminal litigation and with experience managing and leading a team of lawyers. Sandra believes in equal access to the justice system and is especially dedicated to providing impartial, competent and compassionate representation on behalf of the community. Sandra has experience in appearing in all jurisdictions in New South Wales, and since 2016, has focused on the prosecution of human exploitation and child abuse in Australia. 

    Sandra completed a Bachelor of Arts/Laws (Hons) at the Australian National University (2010-2014) and in 2023, completed her Masters of Law at the University of Sydney.
